We’re shining our fundraising spotlight on some amazing supporters this month! Celebrating our fundraisers  is so important to us, as without our amazing community of supporters, we simply couldn’t provide vital care to our patients and their families. Read more about the amazing fundraising that’s been taking place recently:

Worldham Golf Club’s Jill Anderson Ladies Cup Day

On Sunday 14 May, the members of Worldham Golf Club held their annual Ladies Day event for the Jill Anderson Ladies Cup. It was a beautifully sunny day, with the lady members of the club inviting the gentleman to join their teams for a competitive round of golf. As part of the day they also held a raffle, raising over £500 for our Hospice!

Basingstoke Netball League Annual Tournament

The Basingstoke Netball League hosted their annual Netball Tournament to support our Hospice. The sun shone, the players were out with their families and enjoyed a great day of competitive sport and socialising. They held a raffle and various sweepstake activities, including a ‘Guess the name of the giant bear’ – who has found a lovely new home!

Leeds Marathon

Supporter, Darren, took on the Rob Burrow MND Leeds Marathon to raise vital funds for the Hospice. He completed the 26 mile, very hilly route on an incredibly warm day and raised over £1,400 for St. Michael’s Hospice – thank you Darren!

Eastfield Avenue’s Coronation Street Party

On Saturday 6 May, the wonderful residents of Eastfield Avenue in Basingstoke hosted a Street Party for the King’s Coronation and raised money for our patients and their family from their raffle. They had a turn out of 80 people (almost the whole street!) despite the rain, had cakes, sweets, games and a fish and chip dinner, and raised a wonderful £300!

Hackney Half Marathon

Local ladies, Lauren and Megan, ran the Hackney Half Marathon to raise funds for us because of the care and support we have given their family friend. A half marathon was a real challenge for them both, the furthest they had ever run was a 10K back in 2018, but they both rose to the challenge, completing the half marathon in a great time and raising over £1,700!
