Below are just some of the amazing fundraisers that took place during February – thank you and well done to everyone who raised vital funds for our patients!

Tesco Chineham Collection

Tesco Superstore in Chineham let us hold a collection in the entrance to the store at the beginning of February. Our volunteers were keen to meet the public and people were incredibly generous with their donations throughout the day raising an incredible £928.40 for the Hospice!

Get Inspired Basingstoke

We attended Get Inspired Basingstoke in February and were pleased to be given the opportunity to talk to students from local secondary schools about the different careers in the charity sector. It was wonderful to share the varied roles and careers that are available in the charity sector.

Mad Hair Day

Our Mad Hair Day was back with a bang this year! Over 12 local schools took part with students, teachers and parents coming to school with the craziest hair they could think of to support St. Michael’s Hospice. This year we saw some incredible hairstyles, from pineapples and rainbow hair to football nets and octopuses! It was a wonderful display of creativity and imagination. Thank you so much to everyone who took part and support the Hospice by raising an amazing £2144  – we can’t wait to see your crazy hairstyles next year!

Basingstoke MG Owners Club

The Basingstoke MG Owners Club kindly chose to support us with their annual Doughnut Run, which is a classic car tour around Basingstoke and surrounding villages. Starting at Milestones Museum, the participants drove over 90 miles before finishing their journey at Highfield Park Hotel for an afternoon tea. Despite the weather taking a turn for the worse, a lot of beautiful classic cars still took part on the day and braved the lunchtime rain. Everyone had an enjoyable day and the club unanimously agreed to round up their donation to St. Michael’s Hospice to an incredible £2,000!

Stormtrooper Collection at Festival Place

Stormtroopers invaded Festival Place in February to help raise vital funds for our Leap Hero Appeal! The Star Wars characters, accompanied by some of our wonderful volunteers, were in Festival Place raising awareness of the Hospice and collecting donations from the public. Children and adults enjoyed having their photo’s taken with the Stormtroopers and were very generous with their donations, helping raise an incredible £573.82 to help keep our Hospice running for the extra day of care in February!

Fit for a Cause

Fundraisers Nick, Jemma and Ali set up a fitness bootcamp for supporters to attend to raise money for St. Michael’s Hospice in memory of their friend Jennie. It was a great day, starting off with a HIIT class which got people up, moving and sweating, before being followed by a Pilates class and a gentle cool down. Supporters were able to do both classes or stay for one and they had over 60 attendees who all had a wonderful time. Together they raised an amazing £1,716 for the Hospice!

Bald Ambition

Supporters Simon, Jay and David all braved the shave at the end of February to help raise vital funds for our Leap Hero appeal. They teamed up with a barbers in Tadley to get their hair cut, all starting with varying lengths of hair and ending up with very smooth, bald heads! They raised a brilliant £775 for the Hospice which will make such a difference to keeping us open on Leap Day!
