Hundreds attend sunflower celebration

On Sunday 2 June, hundreds of residents from across North Hampshire and beyond attended our annual Sunflower Celebration.

Held in the Hospice gardens, the event was an opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones.

From 2pm, visitors enjoyed refreshments, stalls, games, arts and craft, and had the chance to find out more about our Living Well Services, while children enjoyed a sunflower stone hunt around the Hospice gardens.

This was followed by a heart-warming service of poems, readings and a reflection.

Becky Legate, Events Manager at St. Michael’s Hospice, said, ‘It’s so important to us that we celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones – and to do that as a community makes it extra special. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our event, all funds raised through the day and dedications will help us to continue caring for more families who need our vital care.’

We’re an independent charity and need to raise  £14,000 a day to continue providing free compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses, facing the end of life, or are experiencing a bereavement.

There are more events coming up this year including our Golf Day and BBQ, Moonlight Walk and more. Find out more by clicking here.
