On Wednesday 24 May 2023, we hosted our brand-new outdoor Movie Night at Bartons Mill Pub, Basingstoke.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again! was shown on the big screen in the beautiful garden of Bartons Mill Pub. 190 people attended the event, which raised £3000 to help provide free, compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses in North Hampshire. Funds were raised through ticket sales as well as a raffle, with a number of prizes being donated by local companies including Bartons Mill, Hattingley Valley Vineyard, MeetSpace VR Escape Rooms and Renegade Brewery.
Food and drinks were available to buy from the pub, so all viewers needed to do was bring along a chair or blanket and sit back and relax and wait for the sun to set before enjoying the smash hit film with friends and family.
Events Manager Becky Legate, said, ‘This event was really exciting and completely new for us. It was a chance for our community to come together with friends and family to enjoy a fun night out, all while raising funds for their local Hospice. The film finished with people getting involved and singing and dancing and it was a really lovely atmosphere. We’re really thankful to everyone who bought tickets and took part in fundraising on the evening – thank you so much for helping us raise vital funds.’
