Become a corporate supporter

Support from local companies is essential to St. Michael’s Hospice and our vision to generate sufficient income to deliver the highest standard of care and support to our patients and their families across North Hampshire.

We are extremely keen to establish and maintain good working relationships with local companies and their employees. There are many different ways that local businesses can choose to support St. Michael’s Hospice to make a real difference to people in the local community facing life-limiting illness.

Sponsoring a Hospice-led event

We hold regular Hospice-led events throughout the year, all of which are well supported by the local community and generate vital funds for St. Michael’s Hospice. Sponsoring an event is a fantastic way of promoting your company and supporting the local community.

If you’re interested in getting involved with sponsoring one of our charity-led events, please contact fundraising@stmichaelshopsice.org.uk.

Charity of the Year

Nominating St. Michael’s Hospice as your Charity of the Year is an excellent way of getting involved and helping to support your local community. We understand that it is not always possible for a company to commit to supporting us for a whole year; an alternative would be to hold a charity week or month in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice. Whichever way you can support us, we would be delighted to discuss the options with you.

Staff Fundraising

Staff fundraising is an excellent and fun way to boost morale and motivate your staff. You can organise your own fundraising events in the workplace, such as a dress-down day, participate in our Community Campaigns, take part in a challenge event, or support events and raise sponsorship.

Volunteering

Could you put together a team of work colleagues to volunteer your services as a group? Perhaps you could suggest that your company offers a certain amount of volunteering hours on a weekly or monthly basis?

We have a number of volunteering opportunities for you to get involved with including maintenance tasks, helping out at our events and supporting our Community Campaigns.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is a simple and tax efficient way of giving to St. Michael’s Hospice directly from your salary. Your donation will be deducted from your salary or pay packet before the tax is removed. Here is a guide of what would be deducted from your salary and what the Hospice would receive:

  • A donation of £10 per month would cost you just £8
  • A donation of £20 per month would cost you just £16
  • A donation of £50 per month would cost you just £40

If you are in a higher tax bracket, the amount deducted will be even less.

If you are interested in payroll giving, you can start almost immediately by downloading a simple form here. Once this is complete, you will just need to authorise your payroll department at work to take your gift out of your monthly salary.

Match Funding

Match funding is a great way to support your employees with their fundraising efforts, whilst also raising vital funds for a cause that’s important to them. Match funding can help to promote your organisation, build your Corporate Social Responsibility profile and enhance employee motivation.

Collecting units

Show your customers that you are supporting St. Michael’s Hospice by placing a collection unit in a prominent place, such as in your reception area.

The units can be delivered and collected from you by our team of volunteers, making this an easy way to fundraise! We will, of course, let you know how much your collection unit has raised, so you can let your staff and visitors know the valuable contribution that they have made to the Hospice.

Donating Prizes and Gifts

We rely on the generosity of local businesses to support us by donating items that we can put to good use, for example: giving them as prizes to top fundraisers, using them as raffle or tombola items, or simply presenting them as gifts to participants at charity events. Items could include samples, end of line items, excess marketing materials, promotional items and excess incentive or staff recognition gifts.
