Your life is a story, the ending matters.
Help provide comfort, dignity, and compassion to families in your community when they need it most.
Help Us Close the Gap.
The reality we face is stark: without the continued support of our local community, St. Michael’s Hospice may not be able to be there for everyone who needs us.
Every day, more patients and their families turn to us for specialist pain management, emotional support, and end-of-life care; both within our Hospice in Basingstoke and in homes across North Hampshire. However, our resources are being stretched to their limit.
While we have seen a small increase in government funding, it has not kept pace with the rising costs of providing care. High inflation, rising energy costs, and the general cost of living mean that our expenses continue to climb while we strive to meet an ever-growing demand for our services.
The Funding Challenge:
-
We must raise £14,500 every single day to continue providing our vital services.
-
External economic factors beyond our control mean we expect our costs this year to significantly exceed our income.
-
We rely on the generosity of supporters like you to ensure our doors stay open for those facing their hardest days.
We believe that when a patient is in our care, their family is too. Our support is not just for those reaching the end of their life, but for the husbands, wives, children, and friends who walk that path beside them. You may already support us because you know of someone who has received care from St. Michael’s Hospice, or you may have experienced it while caring for a loved one and know how vital end-of-life care is to all involved. Your support today ensures that when local families face their most vulnerable moments, they don’t have to face them alone.
- A gift of £36.42 could help fund a bereavement counselling session, ensuring a loved one doesn’t have to face their grief alone.
- A gift of £107 could help fund five hours of specialist nursing care
- A gift of £340 could help fund two hours of care from our Hospice at Home team for patients that have chosen to die at home.
Our community needs us. Local families need us. One day, you or someone you love might need us too.
Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated. Your generosity will ensure that individuals and their families going through the most challenging times can continue receiving the care they deserve. Together, we can ensure that St. Michael’s Hospice continues to provide specialised care well into the future.
