Our Patrons

Val Buckley

I first became involved with St Michael’s Hospice at the very beginning in 1987. I set up a volunteer fundraising committee called The Friends of St Michael’s Hospice to help raise the funds to build the hospice. The Friends committee still exists today and every year we organise numerous fundraising events and also spread the word about the hospice throughout the county. It’s a truly wonderful place that shows people how to live during their final years, months, and days. It’s been my life’s work, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been so closely involved in such a special place.

Hugo Cubitt DL

After ten years working at Sotheby’s in London, Hugo returned to Hampshire and set up a company specialising in renovating and restoring period country properties.

Hugo has been involved in fundraising for several Hampshire charities over the years, including much-needed funds for the Piam Brown Children’s ward in Southampton and St Michael’s Hospice.

He was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire in 2017

Hugo was very honoured to be asked to be a patron in 2023 and will support the Hospice in any way possible.
