St. Michael’s Hospice has over 100 staff and is assisted by over 700 volunteers.
The Living Well Service aims to provide a safe space for patients and those important to them to access support and advice from Healthcare Professionals, skilled in delivering specialist palliative care services.
Our services are designed to enable people to remain as independent as possible, to manage the impact of their illness, and to help support them through any future changes. Our aim is to promote and improve overall wellbeing, so everyone can achieve the most out of life.
Our service provides holistic, patient-centred care delivered by a specialist team including a palliative care consultant, specialist occupational therapist, specialist physiotherapist, and palliative care nurse. We run a monthly MND clinic where patients are reviewed by a wider multidisciplinary team, including a neurologist, speech and language therapist, dietician, enteral nutrition nurse specialist, and an MNDA volunteer.
