August Spotlight 2026
A Summer of Fundraising Success
From sunflower patches and classic cars to golf days and family festivals, our incredible community and corporate supporters came together throughout August to raise an amazing amount for St. Michael’s Hospice.
A Hole-in-One for Fundraising!
Taylor Wimpey teed off for an incredible £12,773.
We were also delighted to welcome our local football club for a special visit to John Keyte's dear wife on Saturday 8 August.
Community Fundraising
On August 1, our dedicated volunteers were at Tesco’s Basingstoke Collection, helping us raise £1,557.07 over the 2 days.
On August 2, George Lane ran the Accura Perth Half Marathon, raising an incredible £900!
On August 3 to 16, The Rotherwick Patch Sunflowers raised a wonderful £2,186.12.
On August 22, our brilliant volunteers attened and ran a stall for the Alton Lions Classic Car Show at our Alton Shop.
On August 31, Mill House Duck Race raised an amazing £2,150.
A Summer Party was also held by Emma Court and Lady Susan, raising £650.
In August, we had a cheque presentation with Basingstoke Camera Club.
And finally... £1500 was raised by Waitrose from their Community Award!
Corporate fundraising
On August 4, TPT Fire Maintenance were crowned winners of the Business Five’s football tournament and will go through to the National Finals in October. With their spirit and teamwork, they raised a walloping £1,405!
On August 22, Portsmouth Arms held a family festival and raised an amazing £852 and counting!
On August 31, Barchester Care Homes had a stall at Odiham Food Fayre selling homemade granola, they raised a wonderful £300.
