On 26 April, London Marathon Steph, Liam, Dan, Jake and our very own staff member, Tash, ran the London Marathon raising over £10k between them. We couldn't be prouder.

"Running the London Marathon was such an incredible experience. I’d always wanted to say I’d completed a marathon, and to do it in London, with all the crowds, atmosphere and everything that makes it so iconic, felt really special. It also meant a lot to be able to raise some money for St. Michael’s Hospice, especially as I see first-hand the difference that support makes every day." - Tash

On 19 April, Brian Giles had his special 80th Birthday Celebration, raising a wonderful £2,140.00

"I wanted to mark this milestone in a very special way. Instead of receiving gifts, I asked my guests to make donations to St. Michael’s Hospice and the MND team in memory of my wife, Christine Giles, who was cared for at the Hospice in 2022. The compassion, dignity and warmth you showed her during the final stage of her life meant so much to all of us, and I felt this was the most meaningful way to remember her.  It was a wonderful day filled with family, friends and memories, and we hope the photos help capture some of that spirit." - Brian

I have lived in Basingstoke all my life and have had experience with the Hospice, my stepmother and father both worked at the Hospice. My father-in-law passed away at the Hospice and I can only be extremely grateful for the care and compassion that was shown to our family, especially as both my children were quite young at the time. My son was a volunteer at the Hospice shop at Brighton Hill during his teens, again he loved the team, and they taught him some very valuable life lessons, he has also been involved in fundraising for the Hospice on other occasions. I enjoyed the experience and was overwhelmed at times at the amount of money the people were donating, and also the stories that people told of the Hospice.” - Corrina, volunteer

On 19 April, Michal ran the Newport Marathon along with the London Marathon on the 26 April, raising an astonishing £915! Thank you for your generosity and determination Michal!

We are so thankful to be their charity of the year. Home Instead chose us at their charity of the year as Denise Pratt, Training & Pastoral Care Manager’s mother was cared for at St. Michael’s Hospice 11 years ago.
