Skydive for the Hospice

  • Date: Sat 18th May, 2024
  • Location: Army Parachute Association, Neveravon, Salisbury, SP4 9SF

Take on the adrenaline rush of a lifetime with a tandem skydive from 13,000ft!

Taking the plunge in a tandem skydive is one of the most exhilarating experiences you could ever ask for. Nothing quite compares to the adrenaline rush you’ll feel during this incredible experience, while also raising money for St. Michael’s Hospice.

Following a thorough safety briefing and training from the Army Parachute Association instructors, you will board the Cessna Caravan aircraft and fly to over 2 miles (13,000ft) high. Once strapped to your instructor, it’s time to jump! The feeling of free-falling through the sky is second to none and the stunning views across Wiltshire as you soar through the sky and parachute back to the ground will take your breath away.

The buzz felt can only be eclipsed by knowing how much of a difference your fundraising efforts are making. Fundraising in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice with your skydive allows us to continue providing our specialist care to people faced with a life-limiting illness, their families and their carers, to ensure they attain the highest possible quality of life.

Are you ready to take the leap of a lifetime?

Can you do it? Yes you can!

If you are brave enough to take on a skydive and are over the age of 16, this challenge is for you!

You need to be of a reasonable fitness level and under 16 stone to take part. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, consult your doctor before booking your place.

(Under 18’s will need to be accompanied by an adult on the day and have parental consent to take part.)

Who pays for my Skydive?

You will need to pay a £50 registration fee to the Army Parachute Association to confirm your jump in support of St. Michael’s Hospice. Once this is paid, you can pay the remaining cost (£175) of your jump direct with the Army Parachute Association prior to the day. Anything you fundraise will then go to the Hospice.

What support will I get?

You will get ongoing support from your own designated Fundraising Co-ordinator, a t-shirt (to show everyone you’re a Hospice Flyer) and a sponsorship form.

You are invited to an evening at St. Michael’s Hospice on Thursday 9 May where you’ll hear from someone who has taken on a Skydive challenge before. There will also be an update from our care team about how we are continuing to support our patients when they need us most, and you will have the opportunity for a short tour of the Hospice to see our updated Patient and Family rooms (depending on capacity).

On the day, you’ll receive training and a safety briefing from the staff at the Army Parachuting Association and you’ll be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor who controls the free fall, parachute opening and landing. You will have a member of staff from St. Michael’s Hospice Fundraising Team cheering you on as you set off to make the leap of a lifetime!
