Virtual Big Wheel 2019

We’re launching our first ever Virtual Big Wheel cycle!

Can’t make Big Wheel this year, but would still like to take part? Maybe you’re looking for your next challenge but can’t find the right length of route for you? Or do you struggle to take part in events due to the large crowds at our existing Big Wheel event?

There are many reasons why you may want to take part in our Virtual Big Wheel cycling challenges. Virtual events offer great flexibility as you can choose the time, date and location of your ride which is perfect for those busy bees!

There are two challenges to choose from, our Virtual 100 or taking part in ‘Cycle your Way’, both to be completed on two wheels! You can use any bike (excluding motorised bikes), including a static bike, and could even think of completing your challenge by accumulating the miles over the summer months e.g. cycling to work or school.

Virtual 100

Create your own Virtual 100 challenge, or choose to complete one of our suggestions below:

South Downs Way

Goodwood Motor Circuit

Track your challenge using a distance tracking app such as Strava or send us a picture of the monitor on your static bike or the route you travelled so we can see your progress. Once you’ve completed your virtual cycle, send us your proof, and we’ll send you your Virtual 100 commemorative medal!

Entry and Registration:

Registration is £15 and is non-refundable.

Why not also set up a Just Giving page for your virtual cycle challenge? It’s really easy to do, and we will happily support you along the way to help with your fundraising. You do not have to raise sponsorship for this challenge but any additional fundraising would help towards providing the care to our patients and their families.

We’re offering a mystery gift to anyone who can raise over £100!

Cycle Your Way:

Cycle your way: pick your date, set your speed and choose your location!

Not sure where to go? Click here for some example routes which all vary in length and ability.

However you decide to complete this challenge, remember you’ll need to track your distance through apps such as Strava or send us a picture of the monitor on your static bike or the route you travelled and we can see your progress.

Entry and Registration:

Registration is £5 and is non-refundable.

We kindly ask for you to fundraise a minimum of £30 before receiving your medal, but if you raise over £100 you’ll receive a mystery gift!

To help start your fundraising, you can set up a JustGiving page. It’s really easy to do, and we will happily support you along the way to help with your fundraising. 100% of your sponsorship will go directly to supporting our patients and their families suffering with life limiting illness.
