Occupational Therapist 

Salary: £24,214 – £30,112 per annum pro rata, dependent on experience
Hours: up to 15 hours per week (flexible working pattern considered)

Senior Staff Nurse – St. Michael’s Community Palliative Care Team

Salary: up to £32,525.00 per annum, dependant on experience

Full time (12 MONTHS SECONDMENT/FIXED TERM CONTRACT– COVERING MATERNITY LEAVE)

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who is able to inspire and deliver high quality nursing and holistic care as a key member of our Community Palliative Care Team?

Modern specialist palliative care is an exciting, progressive and extremely rewarding field to be part of and practice in. The Community Palliative Care Team primarily manage and deliver care for patients in their own home, ensuring patients with a wide range of life limiting illnesses obtain the highest quality of life possible and that their families / carers are given access to the appropriate support to help them manage and cope during what is a testing and challenging time.

St. Michael's Hospice Trustee

We have an exciting opportunity for individuals with clinical, medical or legal backgrounds to join the St. Michael's Hospice Board of Trustees. As a member of the Board of Trustees you will work alongside fellow Trustees to:

  • Hold the organisation firmly to its guiding values and principles, including responsibility for the culture of the organisation
  • Have prudent control through robust corporate governance
  • Drive forward the impact of St. Michael’s Hospice with an entrepreneurial spirit, to develop and grow the organisation and its income
  • Be answerable for day to day actions whilst retaining an objective, strategic longer term view
  • Be sensitive to the pressures of short term issues and yet take account of long term trends, particularly as they affect local people with life-limiting conditions
  • Be knowledgeable about local issues and yet be aware of potential or wider influences
  • Be focused on the different and various needs of our audiences, particularly in regard to the needs of our local patients with a life-limiting condition, whilst acting responsibly towards employees, partners and the community as a whole
  • Be responsible for the appointment and tenure of the Chief Executive.

Staff Nurse

Part/Full Time 
Salary:  £ 24,214 - £26,220 – per annum, dependant on experience

We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join our In-patient Unit. To apply, you must be, enthusiastic, flexible, and have a passion for palliative and end of life care, have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will have access to a range of training and development opportunities and be welcomed as a valued member of an experienced and supportive team.  Newly qualified Registered Nurses will be considered and will be fully supported in their new role.

Ward Manager (In-Patient Unit) 

Full Time
Salary:  £37,570 -£43,772 per annum, dependant on experience

We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager to join our In-patient Unit. To apply, you must be dynamic and enthusiastic and be able to motivate, inspire and lead the In-patient team to achieve high standards, promote patient safety and ensure that patients with life limiting illness attain the highest possible quality of life by providing evidence-based specialist care and support. You will provide clinical, professional, managerial and leadership for a multi-disciplinary team based on the unit. You will also be highly effective as a communicator and problem solver with the ability to work under pressure, manage budgets, staff and the delivery of high quality care. 

Applicants should have extensive experience of an inpatient environment and/or have experience as a Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager and be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of palliative and end of life care.  The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate up to date clinical leadership and managerial skills and demonstrate understanding and commitment to all relevant regulations in this important role.
