Hospice Hounds Facebook Dog Show

Get those tails wagging by entering your four-legged friends into our Facebook dog show!

Join us on our Facebook page from Monday 17th - Friday 21st August for your pooches to take part in daily categories and the chance to be crowned 'Best in Show'.

Entry is free for Hospice Hounds, but if you would like to show your support during these challenging times, we would be truly grateful for your donations. You can donate on our website here or through Facebook donate.

Hospice Hounds Daily Categories:

  • Monday 17th August - Happiest Hound
  • Tuesday 18th August - Best Dressed
  • Wednesday 19th August - Best Action Shot
  • Thursday 20th August - Cutest Puppy (12 months old or less)
  • Friday 21st August - ​Best Friends

​Each category winner will receive a rosette and dog goodies.

On Monday 24th August the 'Best in Show' (overall winner) will be announced, receiving a rosette, goodies for both the winning pet and their owner, along with a personalised framed needle felted portrait of the winning dog created by Denise Girling.

 

How to take part in Hospice Hounds:

  1. To enter a category, please send us a photo of your dog, along with their name and the selected category in an inbox message to our St. Michael's Hospice Facebook page by 3pm the day before.
  2. From 10am each day we will share all the category entries in an album on our Facebook page  
  3. The winner will be the photo which receives the most likes and loves from the public, so make sure to ask your friends and family to like your photo to boost your votes!
  4. Voting for each category closes at 4pm. We will calculate the winning entry and announce this on our Facebook page that evening. We will contact the category winner separately to organise postage of their prize
  5. On Monday 24th August we will be announcing the overall 'Best in Show' winner, selected from our 5 daily category winners by our judging panel. The overall winner will be contacted separately to organise delivery of their prize

How your donations help our Hospice:

The money raised through your donations will help us to continue providing vital end of life care and support to our patients and their families across North Hampshire.

  • £6 = Cost of drugs and oxygen for 1 patient for 1 hour
  • £20 = Cost of providing nursing care for 1 hour
  • £30 = Cost of 1 Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy session
  • £60 = Cost of providing drugs and oxygen for 1 patient for 10 hours
  • £160 = Cost of providing our Physiotherapy services for 1 day
  • £300 = Cost of maintaining our syringe driver for 1 year, to ensure our patients are as pain free as possible.
