Skewers Annual Fun Day, Basingstoke, Sunday 24th August
The Skewers pub in Windrush Close (off London Road) Basingstoke are holding their Annual Fun Day in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice. It starts at midday until closing and will consist of the following attractions; Sponge Stocks, Pool & Darts Competitions, Yard of Ale Competition. 3 Man Tug - Of - War competition, Bouncy Castle, Barbecue. Evening Disco and Karaoke Competition with a prize for the best singer plus the Kestrel FM Street Crew.
Great British Duck Race, Sunday 31 August
The Great British Duck Race takes place on Sunday 31st August, on a 1km stretch of the River Thames near Hampton Court Palace.
A quarter of a million ducks are set to break the existing Guinness World Record. It costs just £2 to adopt one of the Ducks and you can also make a donation to St. Michael's Hospice (North Hampshire). Click here for more information about the Great British Duck Race.
Bambu and Wine at 9, Saturday 30 August
Come and enjoy a glass of wine, listen to a local band that covers everything from The Beatles to Motown and from funk to punk, and help support St. Michael’s Hospice. The Chineham Village Club in Thornhill Way, Chineham, are hosting a Wine at 9 and band night in the village hall, including a charity raffle at 8pm. Tickets are £3 for adults and £1 for children. Summer Fete, Sunday 31 August
A summer Fete is being held at Reflections Leisure Club, Hampshire Court Hotel, Chineham in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice and Naomi House. Come along and visit a variety of stalls from 12-5pm. The Hospice fundraising team will be on hand with some fun summer games and to provide you with information about the Hospice.
Wine at 9, Throughout September
Throughout September support your local Hospice by holding a Wine themed party at home with friends and family…enjoy a ‘winey’ night out with work colleagues… have a wine-tasting competition in your local pub… run a wine-themed quiz...have a raffle at work for a winey prize...donate for each glass or bottle you drink. Hook and Odiham Lions Club Duck Races, Saturday 6 September
A little closer to home, this duck race is taking place from 11.30 at the Crooked Billet in Hook. Tickets cost £1 and the winners of the first 10 races will compete in the last Race for a 1st prize of £200, 2nd prize £100 and 3rd Prize £50. Come along Join in the FUN! A day out for the whole family, watch your duck race and win prizes. All profits will be donated to St. Michael’s Hospice.
St. Stephen’s Flower Festival, 6, 7 8 September
St. Stephen’s Church in Baughurst are holding a Flower Festival, with the theme Myths and Legends of Hampshire and Berkshire, from Saturday 6th to Monday 8th September from 10 am until 6pm. On Saturday 6th September a concert by ‘Trillium’ will be held in the Church at 7.30pm, tickets are £6. A Harvest service will be held on Sunday 7th September at 6pm, and on Monday 7th September at 7.30pm there will be a Harvest Supper with Auction of Flowers. Tickets for this evening are also priced at £6. The proceeds of the festival will be shared between St. Michael’s Hospice, The Charles Clore Care Unit at West Berkshire Community Hospital, Thatcham, St. Stephen’s Church and the Basingstoke Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society. Tadley Treacle Fair, Sunday 7 September
Come and support our St. Michael’s Hospice Stall at Tadley Treacle Fair. The Fair will be a family event with a number of interesting arena events planned, including the ever popular birds of prey flying demonstration. There will be a display by local Fire and Rescue Services, a Marching Band and the Hook Morris Men, among others. There will also be a large Craft Marquee, Charity Stands and Car Boot Sale.
Basil de Ferranti Charity Golf Tournament, Thursday 18 September
We'd love to welcome you - why not make 2008 the year you support the hospice golf event. Four ball teams are welcome from individuals or businesses and there are some great sponsorship opportunities. Click here for further information.
Salvation Army Carol Concert, Monday 1 December 2008
The Salvation Army is proud to present its fifteenth Christmas Show at The Anvil. As in previous years, the Salvation Army is pleased to support the work of St. Michael’s Hospice, so start the Christmas season by sharing in a Christmas Gala, an evening of family entertainment, including The Salvation Army Band and Choir, the children from the Sunday School, the nativity story, one or two little surprises and of course the opportunity to sing those Christmas carols. Light Up the Hospice, 7 December 2008
This special evening, held in the grounds of St. Michael’s Hospice, brings together people from across North Hampshire for a moving and uplifting service featuring the Basingstoke Silver Band, with carols, music, and readings by staff, volunteers and families who have experienced the quality of care at the Hospice.
