Set Up Your Own Event
Organising your own event will take lots of preparation and planning, but it is the perfect way to raise funds for St. Michael’s Hospice.
Please download a copy of our Fundraising Pack for information and advice on putting on your event, and for fundraising ideas.
The fundraising team will be on hand to answer any of your queries and would welcome a meeting with you before you start your event to make sure that everything will be done to Hospice standard. The Fundraising Pack should be read whilst you are planning your event
There are a number of Fundraising Materials which are available from the fundraising team. Please make sure you book these in advance of the event as some have limited supplies and we would not want to disappoint you.
Please make sure that the Hospice Logo and Charity number (1002856) are on all promotional materials like posters and leaflets. It is important that people know exactly where there money is going. If it is all PROFITS i.e. only money raised after costs are covered, that will come to the Hospice please make sure you clearly state ‘all profits to St. Michael’s Hospice’ to avoid confusion.
Promoting your event
Let the Fundraising team know what you are doing. We can not support your event if we do not know it is taking place.
The Fundraising Team can promote your event by displaying posters in the Hospice and in our Hospice Shops, and by putting your event in our Calendar of Events on our website.
Contact your local newspaper and radio station and see if they would be happy to promote your event. The Fundraising Team can provide you with a press release template so that you can write the perfect newsworthy description of your event.
Returning Funds
When you have completed your event then please return any unused fundraising materials and moneys collected to:

Please do not open any buckets or collecting units, we will do this at the Hospice for you and count the contents.
Please make any cheques payable to St. Michael’s Hospice.
Don’t forget to include your contact details and how the money was raised so that we can make sure that you receive a letter of thanks, and so that we can let you know how much money that you have raised.
Also please email Sarah any photos of your event so that we can include on the website and in our newsletters.
