Recruitment & Retention
Volunteers hold responsible and valued positions within the Hospice, its Charity Shops and for Fundraising and by the very nature of the environment the selection process is approached in line with the screening for employed staff. This includes a formal application, references, interview and where appropriate the relevant level of disclosure with the Criminal Records Bureau.
Volunteers receive clarity about their role, are given 'hands on' support, supervision and have the opportunity to further develop their skills. Furthermore, experienced Volunteers play a pivotal role as 'Mentor' under whose guidance new recruits can safely reach a level of ability and understanding.
